A disturbing report on Fox News, should have us asking what is the U.S. Going to do about protecting our food from this war with Mexico? Are we supposed to let these Mexican Drug Cartels, take over our farms bordering Mexico? God forbid!
With 8,200 farms sitting right next to Mexico’s border at risk, we may find ourselves dependent on foreign food as Texas is a big beef and cotton state. Much of the food we consume comes from Texas. They produce more cattle than any other state.
As an American, one cannot be apathetic towards this war that is resulting in farmers being threatened by men with guns, to get off their land. Needless to say, the farmers don’t argue.
Many farmers are just so tired and do not have the resources to keep illegal persons off of their land, and this is a major problem. With these people come terrorists with guns ready to do damage. These farmers are living daily in fear and beginning to sell and leave, since they can’t get the help they need from the government.
More cattle is raises more cattle than any other state in our United states. This can and will have a huge impact on our economy and food prices.
The question is, why we do not send troops down there to stop this madness. Now that they have entered our soil and taken it over, threatened our citizens, and put our national security at risk; Why are we not using our military to defend the mainland?
Even though this is Tennessee and we are far from Texas, these find folks are our fellow citizens and this is our nation! We must get our minds together on how we think about this issue. Are you for letting terrorist thugs take us over and threaten our food supply in the process, or are you for pressing for better protection and acknowledgment of what is going on down there. The only answer that makes any sense, is to back our fellow citizens and the United States of America. Being aware of what is going on and how it will effect us all is a good place to start.
