Topher Grace donates $35,000: It has been an amazing couple of months for Chris Medina and his fiancée Juliana Ramos. Medina, the former ‘American Idol’ hopeful was visited KIIS-FM and ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest’ to talk about his story, and his new single ‘What are Words.’ What happened during that visit can only be described as a tear-jerk moment.

As Chris was talking about Juliana and her struggles after an accident left her with a traumatic brain injury days before they were to be married. Ryan announced that the people from Guthy Renker and Proactive were donating $35,000 to the Laurus foundation to help with some of Juliana’s medical expenses.
Medina was clearly overwhelmed with the generous donation that brought him to tears: “So awesome. That’s real cool.” That would be a good story, but what came next makes this a great story.
Actor Topher Grace and producer Ryan Kavanaugh were sitting in the Green Room preparing to go on-air and promote their new movie ‘Take Me Home Tonight.’ The two were so overwhelmed by Medina’s story, that they came into the studio during Medina’s interview and Topher offered to match Proactive’s donation, with another $35,000.
Kavanaugh was really touched by the story:
“Topher pushed me a little bit. We talked about it and we wanna do something special for you and we want to match the donation.”
“I’m so moved by what I’m hearing out there. You’re so amazing; it’s really great to meet you. I’m not really an emotional guy but my hat’s off to you.”
Then to top it all off, Seacrest asked Kavanaugh if he would be willing to donate part of the box-office from ‘Take Me Home Tonight’ to Chris Medina’s cause. Kavanaugh agreed to donate 1% of the box-office to the Laurus foundation.
‘American Idol’ really does change peoples’ lives, and not just the winners on the show. The real winner here is Juliana and the Laurus foundation, because Chris did the right thing by sticking by her.
