An important message came out of Hawaii this week. For those students living on the island of Oahu, some professional help will be available around campuses to work with students, faculty, or administrators still struggling with the aftermath of the Japanese earthquake. You will find the official information below.
Red Cross Program
The American Red Cross will be presenting a program at Hawaii Pacific University entitled – Japan Earthquake and Tsunami “Psychological Recovery from the Earthquake and Tsunami”.
The program will be presented on Wednesday March 23, 9am to 10:30am at the Warmer Auditorium, located in the Penthouse of the LB building, and again on Tuesday March 29th from 11am to 12:30pm in FH 306. The March 29th program will be provided with Japanese translation. All HPU students, staff and faculty are welcomed to attend.
The event is being held in cooperation with HPU’s Counseling and Behavioral Health Services, the Japanese Association, the International Center, the ELS Language Center, and University Chaplin Services.

Support and Information Drop-in Space
A room will be provide by the ELS Language Center, the Japanese Association, University Chaplin Services, and the International Center beginning Friday March 18th for students who would like to learn more about support on campus and support for those aboard affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The room is being provided so that students can support other students in the wake of this disaster, and to also provide students with useful information. HPU staff and Red Cross representatives will also be present to assist with questions. The room is located in MP 241B and will be available to students from 12:10 to 1:10 everyday for at least the next two weeks.
