With the Storm of Ragnarok Special Edition coming out today it seemed like a good time to share a few tips on stopping a Six Samurai deck. Most players are going to be using the side deck to defeat the Six Sams so what cards might you consider putting in your side deck? Within this article you will see some of the cards which have been found in side decks at The Bargain Box that players choose to take on the Six Samurai. There are no guarantees that these cards will work but hopefully they will inspire you and give you some new ideas. If your not sure about some of the suggestions be sure to leave a comment if you would like to ask some questions.
The first recommend card is Puppet Plant. This card is from Strike of Neos and allows the player to take control of an imposing Warrior or Spellcaster monster (which also makes this card helpful against a Gravekeeper deck.) Two copies could come in handy against the Six Sams. The second recommended card is Kinetic Soldier. His most recent printing was in Machina Mayhem and two copies of him will go a long way also. This handy machine picks up 2000 ATK and DEF when it battles with a Warrior Type monster which means playing one against any of the Six Sam warriors will get you a monster that is effectively a 1350 that boost itself up to 3350 attack (Take that Shi En!).
The third recommended card is Warrior Elimination. This card if playing against a Six Sam or other Warrior build can effectively turn into a Raigeki. Of course the draw back is that Shi En can stop it and if you happen to be running warriors yourself this will destroy yours warriors also. Plus if they are face down the warriors will be unaffected. You can find these in Tournament Pack 7 and Gold Series 2. Since it is a common in Gold Series 2 the odds are a bit better to get it there.
After that your side deck would be up to you. However a couple additional cards that might prove useful are King Tiger Wanghu and Burden of the Mighty. These cards combo well togethter. Burden of the Mighty will lower a monster by 100 points for each star level and King Tiger destroys all monsters with 1400 or less attack that are normal or special summoned (he does not affect flip summons though). So if you have these two on the field at the same time your opponent will be unable to summon a level 4 monster unless it has more than 1800 lp (unless of course you have a second Burden of the Mighty which makes it even hard for the opponent to summon. These cards also work well against a few other decks as well. Well gamers hopefully these suggestions help you out after all no sense in letting the Six Samurai run the show right?
