Sander Kleinenberg ignites Glow at Lima

Sander Kleinenberg, DJ and record producer from Holland will be performing live Thursday April 28 at Lima. Lima is located at 1401 K St NW in Washington, DC. Opening set by Pleasurekraft and hosted by Glow and Panorama Productions, Glow at Lima, which was voted ‘Best New Venue of 2010’ by Armin van Buuren and David Guetta never disappoints. Glow Thursdays at Lima now allow and 18 and over crowd.

Kleinenberg, who was ranked #70 by DJ Magazine in 2009 for their annual Top 100 DJ Poll also, founded Little Mountain Recordings in 2003. He is well known for his use of digital video in concerts which often includes political content or trippy home videos. Sander is also well known for his “Everybody” brand of club nights and albums. His 2000 single “My Lexicon” is often considered a progressive house standard.

Sander started performing as a young teenager in the eastern Netherlands having been inspired by late night radio shows direct from New York City. At school he was know as ‘the kid with the headphones’ and played at school dances and local bars. In 2004 he had released his track “The Fruit” and in 2006 he released “This is Miami”; both tracks reached a number one position in the ARIA chart. Since then some of the biggest DJs in the world, including Sasha, Deep Dish and John Digweed have used his tracks mixing and in compilations.

“I’m completely in love with the lifestyle and what it represents,” he enthuses. “People find it a cliché but I do think it brings people together. I love the fact that when I play in Kuala Lumpur for 5,000 Muslims it goes as right off as it does in Northern Ireland or in Tel Aviv. That is truly the fire that ignites my engine.”

Sander is always on the rise as a DJ, a monthly and seasonal resident at some of the world’s top dance music clubs, including Space in Miami and Crobar in New York City, amongst others. His remixing career has produced various high profile tracks including “Rock Your Body,” from Justin Timberlake, which earned Sander the Best Remix award at the Dancestar USA Awards.

Doors to the event will open at 10pm and close at 2am, though Lima by day is an upscale restaurant and lounge with incredible happy hour specials from 4:30pm-7pm and a lavish menu worth checking out before the party starts. By night the lounge features state of the art sound, lighting and visuals. The Glow Girls dancers will also be performing for added entertainment.
