February to April are often the slowest months for the gym industry. Many New Years resolutions have fallen off the wayside and the dark days and cold winter weather have caused people to hibernate and eat “comfort foods” rather than hit the gym.
As May rolls around, the flowers start to bloom, the days get longer and the hints of summer are just around the corner. For some of us getting in shape for that swimsuit is enough of an incentive to get moving, but many of us need a little bit more inspiration to reach our goals. So what can we do to get on the right track?
Everybody needs a goal or something to look forward to. A vision for themselves that motivates them to get into action and sometimes the idea of getting on that treadmill feels like a boring, tedious job rather than a means to a goal.
Why not join a recreational group or train for an event? There are plenty of ways to get involved in the recreational sports scene or involved in a charity race. It’s just a matter of knowing where to look.
