Indigenous healers from all traditions call upon a natural blend of physical medicine and spirit medicine in their work. Recent scientific evidence has shown why this approach is so effective. Please join Connie Grauds for Nature as Healer: The Convergence of Science and Spirit on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at The Dream Institute of Northern California in Berkeley.
In this program, Grauds will compare and contrast Western medicine and shamanic healing in terms of how Nature, both material and spiritual, is central to healing. She draws on her career as a pharmacist as well as her 17-year shamanic apprenticeship in Amazonian jungle medicine. The account of her recovery from thyroid cancer provides a striking illustration of the role physical medicine and spirit medicine each play.
Those attending will learn about:
• the inherent imprint of Nature on our psyche
• research supporting the healing power of Nature
• the therapeutic implications of the natural self
• plant spirits as portals to the dream state
• definitions of ecological medicine.
PLEASE NOTE: An extended version of this program will be offered for practitioners later this year.
