Let’s Rock Lubbock! Yes it’s been awhile; no, sorry I don’t have any details on the Birthday Bash. We at hornface.com have no press passes, or big expense accounts. Sometimes we don’t even have people on the inside to verify copy; but, never fear the folks at KFMX.com will hook you up where I can’t. So, what exactly am I up to? Getting ready for my next adventure to Jakes BackRoom, and packing. Not packing for my next adventure to Jakes, but for my vacation after my next adventure (more on that later.)
For now let’s set sail to the not so distant future of Sunday Night, 03/06/011, and Jakes BackRoom where the stage will be set for Saving Abel, and company. Once again limitations stand in the way. Sometimes wanting something ahead of time or even wanting it now presents you with these things, limitations I mean (let that be one for the “How to” chapters of your LME.) As far as background on the “producers,” there aren’t many limitations. Beginning with Jakes Sports Bar and Grill, and Jakes BackRoom where I was first greeted by Scott, one of the general managers for the Sports Bar and Grill who clued me in to Jake’s beginnings. The venue owner J.M. named it after his son Jake when he opened it about seven or eight years ago; according to Jakes BackRoom bar manager Chris who co-manages the BackRoom bar with John J. Also according to Chris, tomorrow night’s line up, other than Saving Abel is TBA. However, (cue intro of the promoter, the other “producer”;) FastLane Frontgate Productions is no light weight featuring tour dates for Avenge Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Skillet, or how about setting your Wayback Machine for Stryper Mister Peabody?
Kowabunga Dudes, back from a little web surfing; and while catchin’ some narly waves, also caught some advanced info on tomorrow night’s line up which in actuality features Saving Abel, Red Line Chemistry, and 10 Years. Alas, it’s probably already Sunday according to my friends at hornface.com; but “good things come to those who wait.” I love Saving Abel’s “The Sex is Good;” I also enjoyed the video from Red Line Chemistry “Dumb Luck,” which is Like Rain on Your Wedding, Oops songtalk sorry, I mean ironic. Speaking of songtalk, “The Cats in the Cradle and the Silver Spoon”-my Little Boy Blue graduates college soon; so after reviewing Sunday night’s (03/06/011) performance, we’ll be setting ship’s coordinates for (tongue in cheek!) “The Live Music Capitol of the World,” my Red Raider reader’s enemy camp, or simply speaking Austin, Texas. Until final curtain at Jakes BackRoom-Please, stand by.
