Being a single man in South Florida could pose a difficult task. The pace is fast, the parties/events are plentiful, and you just never know who you might run into. It’s much more than being single…it’s being confident! Not playing confident or posing confidence, but being truly confident in yourself and with your surroundings. You might ask, “How do I find that kind of confidence?”
Whether you are a successful businessman, a working class man who enjoys his free nights and evenings, a single father who has limited time due to work and child custody, or a student working and going to school, there are things you can do to build your level of confidence no matter what your situation may be.
First, get to know you. That means know who you are and where you want to go in life. Make sure you are grounded and well-to-do. Have a sense of direction and ambition. Believe in yourself and your idea of success, whether it’s owning your own home some day, starting and running successful business, taking on a new career that you are most passionate about, or moving up the ranks in the career you are already in. These are just the little things that can begin to help build your levels of confidence.
Next, find out what really makes you tick. Do you find certain things that make you cringe or angry? Are you bothered by slight, miniscule issues like someone tapping their foot? Do you like to sit outside in the evening just as the sun sets and enjoy the end of a day? Do you prefer to eat breakfast in the morning or wait to eat lunch? These may sound strange and you may be wondering why you should understand such concepts about yourself. These are the things that make you you! If you are constantly unsure of yourself and the things are you doing or trying to achieve, you will never have confidence around people, especially if you are looking to meet that special someone.
Finally, realize that no matter what situation you are in, you will handle it and handle it well. It’s cool to keep your cool. People, especially women, like to believe that the people they are surrounded by know how to handle any situation calmly and collectively. It exudes a level of confidence that makes you stand out from the rest, but is also an attractive quality, especially in men. It not only looks good to women and relationships, but it also appeals to co-workers, business people, and your typical “it” crowd that knows you and enjoys your company.
What it all boils down to is being able to be at peace with yourself and your place in life. If you are not at peace, it shows. If you can get out of bed in the morning and tell yourself you are perfectly content at your stage in life, then you are ready to let the rest of the world know. Being at peace also means being content with being single. It may be a cliche, but when you aren’t looking is when you will find what you are looking for. That’s confidence. And you will be amazed at all the other things that confidence will bring to you.
