This a continuation of an interview with Greg Myers of Paranormal Task Force Inc.
Bud: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in this field?
Greg: From my years of experience there is so much advice to give; it would take a book to contain it. However, some key points would include having patience, an open mind, skepticism, respect for both the living and what you are investigating (NEVER PROVOKE) and to be prepared for the unexpected.
Bud: Where do you see your career in paranormal investigations heading and what do you see as your future in this field?
Greg: I really do not see the paranormal as my career, but rather a passion. I personally just hope to continue learning from future experiences, assisting those in need and being able to pass on to others what I have learned through my experiences.
Bud: What would you mark as your crowning achievement, both for yourself and your group, in the field of paranormal investigations?
Greg: Crowning achievement? That comes both personally and to the group through bringing final closure to a client’s situation.
Closing comments by Greg:
As an organization we also advocate the importance for those in the field to “give back” something to the public. Especially the support of causes dedicated to historical preservation. Paranormal and historical preservation go hand in hand, as the preservation of history also preserves the paranormal as well. We are in an age where the youngest member of any given local historical society is well into their 60’s and in some cases, in their 70’s. While at the same time, the newer generations are not being taught the importance of such. We also have to remember that without historical societies, many of the properties they preserve would fall victim to newer developments. So we advocate strongly to the younger generations to get involved with their local historical societies. By doing such we have achieved in bringing youth to some of these societies. Our organization will host events such as overnight ghost hunts and ghost hunting workshops at locations enriched with history for donations or fees which go to the preservation of such.
This year we are conducting such events at the historic and haunted Pythian Castle in Springfield, Missouri and also in Potosi, Missouri at the properties of the Mine Au Breton Historical Society. For those interested, they can check the events page on our website for more information or to attend these or other upcoming events.
I hope you have enjoyed this 4 part series on Paranormal Task Force Inc and I would like to thank Greg Myers for taking the time out of his busy day to answer these questions.
