Bullying has taken over our society. One type of bullying that parents have a hard time noticing is Cyber-bullying. How can parents notice that their child is being cyber bullied? Cyber-bullying is when a person uses the internet to be little or harass a human being.

Two students from the Rutgers Campus streamed Tyler’s sexual encounters online. Bullying has gotten worse over the years. In the past we did not have the internet and when it was brought to the world it was not as powerful as it is today. Now the internet has became one of the most powerful tools in the world today.There are students who not only are killed through bullying, but kill themselves.Tyler Clementi killed himself when he jumped off the George Washington Bridge. Two people were charged for illegally taping and airing his sexual encounters with another man.

Step 1 Stay away from online drama
Step 2 Don’t react (when a person makes a comment towards you ignore it)
Step 3 Document everything (print out emails, texts so you will have evidence of the bully)
Step 4 Seek help (if you have tried to contact the school and you get no results you should seek law enforcement)
Step 5 Know that it isn’t your fault (do not blame yourself for being bullied)

Different Technology, Different Rules: Parents know the rules of the technology that is being used. Trust your instincts about your child. Do not allow a child’s computer to sit on their desk in their room without an unlimited time restriction. If online use is due to your child’s homework sit with him/her volunteering your help.
Monitor Behavior: As the above article states we can complain that our child is sending 3,000 texts a month, but what are we doing as parents to monitor this.
