Dreams and Goals
How far away is a star?
Is a star truly unreachable?
I guess it depends on what you call a star. YOU are a star. Just as people define “success,” they define what is a star.
What is a dream?
Is a dream soley a state of abstraction… asleep or awake? Are dreams reveries? Are dreams wild fancies or hopes? Is a dream a longing for something usually unattainable? Simply an aspiration or desire? If you want them to be, they can. If you want them to be more than that, they can be that too.
How many dreams actually are fulfilled?
Are the dreams that YOU make for yourself feasible? Or are they improbable or unrealistic? If you answered the latter, why do that to yourself? Why put yourself in that position?
Let us use a different word. Let us not use the word “dreams”. Refuse to call the things that you want your life “dreams”. I ask again, how many dreams actually come true? The new word? GOALS.
If you set realistic and feasible goals for yourself…watch as they come true. Goals are something you set, organize, make into plans and then set those plans into motion until they are fulfilled.
Do not let anyone get in the way of what you want to accomplish. If they don’t want to get on the ride, wave as you go by and by and by. You can always revisit on the other side! And if they want to get on the ride, how wonderful is that? Move over and make the room!
And especially don’t allow yourself to get in your own way. Set your attitude straight and follow it all the way to completion.
Stay productive, busy and always continue on your journey of fulfilling all your goals. Think of your aspirations NOT as dreams, but goals that will be reached!
A star is NOT that high! It is not untouchable! It’s truly up to you!
Go do ONE thing…as small as it may be…one single thing to reach one of the goals you set for yourself. And remember, a goal does not have to be grandiose. It can be as small as putting a few cents away to save for something you truly want/need in the future, to saying something wonderfully sweet to your loved one to help the relationship, to adding a few lines to that book you’ve been writing for years. On your mark. Get set. GO!
