If you have ever read a book that you could not put down, this is one of those. Dan Millman’s “Peaceful Warrior” is a must read book for anyone searching for more to life. In his book you will find wisdom that sounds like it just came from the mouth of an elder Buddhist monk. His teachings about life and everything associated with it will inspire you to no ends. This is one of those books that you read and then you read again because you don’t want to miss anything about it.
It sure reads like a sacred text that was recently found in some ruins in forgotten country but it isn’t, it is a one of a kind novel. Dan expertly targets areas of life that we usually do not even think about. He clearly states that the reason behind suffering and everything we call problems in life are due to how we think. He says we are to take out the trash, the trash in our minds, if we want to change. After reading the book and then seeing the movie there is no denying that the book clearly wins this contest.
If you are one of those people that wants to get something out of what you read then this is definitely a book to add to your list. You just cannot read this book and not get anything out of it, in fact the things discussed in his book may actually change your life. Really while reading the book it was just like watching a movie. This is really the type of book that you can visualize. His words are so concise, clear and deep that you are guaranteed to be able to get a vision about anything he talks about in the book.
Some of the things he says makes you actually have to stop and meditate on it, just think for a moment about how true it is. Even after reading a chapter or four in Peaceful Warrior it does not leave you. You can read for a while and then lay down to sleep and what you read in the book will stay with you in your mind. The things he talks about and reveals to you is just too good and too deep to let go so soon, the mind wants to savor the words.
Any Buddhist would be at home while reading this book. In fact any spiritualist would find appeal in the writings in this book. There is just something about a book that reveals truths to you as if you were just enlightened from sitting in hours of meditation. Dan expertly lays out the truths of his enlightened mind in his book so that not just certain people can understand, but everyone can understand. He explains things in a way that you ask yourself, “Why have I never thought of that?” Peaceful warrior is a wonderful read and one that will change the lives of all who read it.
