Just like in the video to the left, Heidi Klum dropped her pregnancy weight gain to be runway ready by eating eggs! That’s right seven weeks after giving birth Klum dieted on an omelet with vegetables for breakfast which consisted of 4 egg whites, an early morning protein shake that was only 180 calories, dined on broccoli and chicken salad where the veggies and skinless chicken were sautéed in a teaspoon of olive oil, this was her biggest meal, and snacked on raw almonds, a cup of turkey chili and another protein shake at the end of the day. She went on to state in People magazine, “If I want a banana, I eat a banana.” However she basically stuck to her Low-Carb diet. Bronx local fitness expert Brad Schoenfeld, M.Sc., C.S.C.S., an adjunct professor in the exercise science department at Lehman College in the Bronx, NY, is widely regarded as one of the leading authorities on body composition training (muscle development and fat loss). He states regarding a protein diet including eggs “There are many protein sources that contain little, if any, saturated fat. Skinless chicken breasts, egg whites, and legumes are all excellent, low-fat protein choices. By simply choosing the “right” foods, a high protein diet can be maintained with minimal effect on fat consumption.” Mr. Schoenfeld is also an author of multiple best-selling fitness books like, Women’s Home Workout Bible, 28-Day Body Shapeover and Sculpting Her Body Perfect. Another successful Egg Diet Hollywood celebrity is Adrian Brody. While preparing for the movie “The Pianist” this actor dropped 30 pounds on the Egg Diet! This low-carb diet is a variation of the Atkins diet plan which eliminates fruits and vegetables. Brody’s diet consisted of one half grapefruit and two hard boiled eggs for breakfast, skinless chicken roasted with a green salad for lunch and topped off with a spinach and tomato omelet made with 2 eggs or fish with steamed vegetables for dinner and absolutely no snacks. This high protein diet makes you feel fuller longer thereby suppressing the appetite. The rule of thumb when determining how to lose weight effectively is to measure your body fat content, commit to a diet plan to get rid of that excess fat around your middle and exercise every day. As with any deviation from your regular diet plan be sure to consult your physician before incorporating such dietary changes.
