PSN users can now donate to the Red Cross to aid Japan directly from the PlayStation Store on the PlayStation 3.
“It’s important to note that your contributions will go directly to the American Red Cross – Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund. Every penny donated will go to the fund, which supports emergency relief and recovery efforts, including deploying personnel, sending relief supplies and providing financial resources.”
By donating you will receive a free Aid Japan XMB theme for the PS3. Donations can be made in sums of $2, $5, $10, $25 and $50.
It’s a good thing Sony is doing here, hopefully this helps raise awareness in the Gaming community. If we can shell out $15 for an overpriced map pack for Call of Duty:Black Ops then why not for something meaningful?
