This week in Atlantic City, Ricky Martin performs at the Borgata, the 3rd Annual Strictly Corvette and American Muscle Car Show takes over the Atlantic City Convention Center, and Bob Seger and Silver Bullet Band perform at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall. There are plenty of reasons to get out this weekend, but the weekend is a long ways off. In the meantime, there are six new Xbox games coming out this week. Three of the games involve music, two star characters trying to survive in dangerous locales, and one game allows players to make pet unicorns. Here are the Xbox releases for this week:
DanceDance Revolution Bundle; published and developed by Konami
DanceDance Revolution (DDR) started out as a simple dancing game that became a worldwide craze. The latest Xbox incarnation of DDR features a fitness mode to track calories burned while dancing to current pop music hits. The DDR Bundle comes with the game and renowned DDR dance pad controller.
Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga; published by Atlus; developed by Larian Studios and Focus Home Interactive
Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga is the remastered version of Divinity II: Ego Draconis and features a renovated graphics engine and refined game play. In Divinity II, the player belongs to the Order of the Dragon Slayers whose goal is to hunt down the Dragon Knights who killed the Divine Hero during the Great War in Rivellon. A dying Dragon Knight bequeaths her power to the player for one purpose, to uncover the truth and prevent Rivellon from falling into chaos once more.
Fantastic Pets for the Kinect; published by THQ; developed by Blitz Games Studios
Fantastic Pets falls within the same vein as Kinectimals: its a pet simulator with Kinect interaction. Where Kinectimals features tiger cubs and other real world creatures, Fantastic Pets, as its name suggests, focuses on creatures from folklore and the player’s imagination. Players can have fun with premade dragons and unicorns, or create a mythological creature of their own.
Man vs. Wild The Game; published by Crave Entertainment; developed by Scientifically Proven
Man vs. Wild The Game is an action game based on the Discovery Channel’s Man vs. Wild. Players assume the role of Bear Grylls as he attempts to survive travel through the most remote parts of the world. Players must hunt for food and traverse hazardous terrain around the world while monitoring Bear Grylls’ vitals.
Michael Jackson: The Experience for the Kinect; published and developed by Ubisoft
Michael Jackson: The Experience for the Xbox allows players to follow and learn the dance moves of the legendary Michael Jackson using the Kinect.
Rio; published and developed by THQ
Loosely based on the upcoming animated movie by Blue Sky and Twentieth Century Fox, Rio is a multi-player party game featuring characters from the movie. In Rio, players are challenged with a series of mini-games as they complete for the top score.
