Dancing with the Stars Season Premiere was Monday and already a controversy is brewing. The scheduled performer for DWTS next week, Chris Brown, caused a stir at the Good Morning America set during an interview Tuesday and allegedly, in rage, broke a window after asked questions by the GMA host Robin Roberts. After this latest confrontation, fans are expressing concerns about his family value for Dancing with the Stars.
On Wednesday, Wendy Williams, a contestant for DWTS Season 12, addressed the issue on her show and noted that some fans are already asking that Chris Brown not be on the Dancing with the Stars stage next week. She confirmed as of Wednesday, he is still scheduled.
“I looked on the Dancing with the Stars website at ABC and the fans are saying this is a family show and we don’t want him there,” Wendy Williams explained to her audience on Wednesday’s Wendy Williams Show. “He is going to be there.”
The Dancing with the Stars Website as well as other fans sites are starting to see an influx of concern from viewers who don’t want their children watching the show when Chris Brown performs.
Here are a range of comments posted Wednesday:
I sure hope Chris Brown does NOT perform on my favorite show DWTS !
He’s still got issues obviously and not apologetic, just wants everyone to move on. He needs to be apologetic and not just say that it was 2 yrs ago. If he was truly a different person I could forgive and forget mostly, but he does not seem to think it was a big deal and does not seem to get how repugnant such behavior is to the rest of us civilized people.
Black, white or otherwise, any man who beats up a woman or child is NOT a real man…….he’s just a pathetic loser and I don’t want to watch it on this show.
Listen up ABC : Your viewers don’t want to see this person on your classy fun family show .
Other comments on Twitter are less wordy but more vocal:
Chris Brown isn’t welcome in my home = Channel changed if he comes on next week.
Chris Brown stay home
On Facebook the comments are strong too:
Chris Brown has learned nothing. Those in the audience of DWTS are HELPLESS if he throws a chair at them.
Chris Brown doesn’t belong on ‘Dancing’ this week. Temper issue.
According to Wendy Williams, the Dancing with the Stars audience will not have any phones, cameras or instruments when they watch his performance, but she will be keeping track of his whereabouts live on her phone and Twittering it back to the fans in real time to give everyone a scoop on what he is doing.
“I got my phone in there. Follow me on twitter. I will be giving you the inside track on what is going on with Chris,” Wendy told her audience at the end of the segment.
So far ABC has confirmed the entertainer Chris Brown will be on set for the performance on Dancing with the Stars next week. The show won’t be taped for 5 days so anything is possible as fans are letting their voice be heard.
