It seemed like a pretty easy task this week; develop a conceptual ad campaign for the Trump hotel collection. The teams were judged on creativity/originality/brand message/pitch. In fact, they have done multiple marketing/ad campaigns this season on the Celebrity Apprentice (channel 12 in Phoenix). The men’s numbers were less but if history repeats itself, they had the advantage because they have done very well on the creativity challenge this season.
Both teams when asked thought they did a great job. Neither one believed they lost, which is interesting because the judges told Trump it was more like a train wreck than an advertising campaign. The judges couldn’t give a winner; instead they said it ‘was a case of the lesser of two evils. There wasn’t a winner but the loser was…’
Some of the boardroom drama is below:
When Don Jr asked Nene who she thinks (besides herself) is the best of the best on her team. She responded with Marlee. Nene wanted to be ‘really really real’, she feels a couple of these girls were crawling up Star’s a@s (rear end). Nene pointed out that LaToya actually does stand up to Star, her comment was more directed to Marlee and Hope.
John Rich felt all his team members did an amazing job. The men felt that they were at a disadvantage because there were only three members.
After gathering the above information Trump told them that the judges didn’t like either team.
The biggest mistake the men made was no ‘call to action’ no phone number or website. The women’s ad was too cluttered. John Rich pointed out that the women missed the customized service which is a trademark for Trump Hotel collection.
Ultimately it was the women who lost; even though there was no winner the men were safe for the week. Star wanted to make an argument to keep her team together and Trump not fire someone. Trump said this was not a good time to make that argument.
Star took responsibility for the presentation. When asked LaToya said that Star should be fired because she is the project manager. Marlee felt that LaToya was the weakest link on the team and she should be fired. Don Jr said Hope was the weakest link. Marlee disagreed with that statement. Nene stated that overall the weakest link was LaToya. Trump said for the last two tasks LaToya received high praises.
Star picked Nene and LaToya to come back to the boardroom. She picked Nene over Hope to help her fight for Star’s job in the boardroom. The problem was Nene felt like she was being manipulated by Star and Nene feels that her and La Toya made a connection this week. She really didn’t appreciate being put in the situation Star put her in.
La Toya was the one who went home because the team did not want her there anymore. Trump felt that the men’s team is stronger and the only way to give the women a fighting chance was to let go the one they thought was the weakest link.
On the way back to the penthouse Nene told Star that she needs to start listening to others and that they need to be a team. Star dodged a bullet because she is a stronger player; but there really is no I in team. Trump let LaToya go because the team felt she was the weakest link. If the team feels that Star is not a team player she may find herself in the same position as LaToya.
Previews from next week look like Nene and Star have a major confrontation that they need to address. This happens before the task is even given out the teams. Celebrity Apprentice always delivers on the drama.

On another note; Donald Trump asked the contestants if they would vote for him to become president. Everyone wisely said yes… Trump responded that was a good idea because otherwise he may have fired them for not being smart. You are not in the contest and don’t have to worry about losing your job this coming week… what are your thoughts on Trump for president. Please leave a comment below.
