High pressure will dominate the weather over the immediate Capital Region today and slide east of the region by this evening. A fast moving low pressure area will advance from the central Plains this afternoon to the upper Great Lakes Region by Monday morning. This low pressure area will bring some mixed precipitation to the region beginning early Monday morning, and through the daytime on Monday. As the low moves up the Saint Lawrence Valley Monday night and into the Canadian Maritimes, conditions should slowly begin to improve.
High pressure will build into the region from Central Canada on Tuesday, but its effects will be short lived as another speedy low pressure system approaches the region from the southwest by Wednesday. This storm will appears to take a more southerly track than its predecessor, and thus, another round of precipitation looks to impact the region. Some of this may be in the form of snow.
Unsettled weather with below normal temperatures looks to remain in place over the region through the end of the work week and into the coming weekend. The saving grace is that no major storms look to impact the region at this point.
