Adam Lambert held a couple of “Twitter parties” last night, essentially participating in a group interview with his more than one million twitter followers. He started by soliciting questions from his fans by tweeting “Twitter Party!!” and answered 40 questions before disappearing off twitter. Apparently he had some more free time later in the evening because he started a second twitter party:
“K for those of ya who missed it- quick Lil twitter party encore b4 I fall asleep…. Go!”
Adam answered another 60 questions at the second twitter party before calling it a night and going to sleep. The questions varied from silly, “eggnog or hot chocolate?” (chocoloate) and “PJ’s or nude?” (nude) to more serious, asking about his political activism and gay rights:
Question: “You have become more politically active in promoting LGBTQ rights. What made you change your stance on this?”
Answer: “Given my increasing visibility I felt it was my indirect responsibility 2 be proud and vocal. a way to be what I never had.
Question: Do you feel pressure to be a exemplary role model for homosexual culture because you are gay and do you get tired of that word?
Answer: “Good question. Yeah sometimes I wish we could just focus on music. But there is Soo much intolerance out there- gets me heated.”
In the last couple of years Adam has gone from struggling artist, to reality show runner-up. to international pop superstar, and one fan asked him if he is still the same person he was 2 1/2 years ago. He answered:
“In some ways. But I’ve grown a lot. And my whole life has changed- so I’ve had to do some adjusting.”
Adam has done a great job adjusting to his new lifestyle by adapting to the pressures of the media and continuously working hard to create amazing music and a great tour for his fans. The fact that he took time out of his busy schedule to answer so many fan questions shows that despite his newfound celebrity status, he continues to be the sweet and gracious person he was before all the fame.
