TNA will present the 2011 Victory Road this Sunday, live from the Impact Zone in Orlando, FL. Outside of the X-Division, TNA Heavyweight No. One contender’s and First Blood match, this event appears to be a throw away PPV in order to set up for the 2011 Lockdown event next month. Below is the slated the card along with my predictions.
Bully Ray vs. Tommy Dreamer
This match could be entertaining if weapons and such are allowed. Don’t get me wrong I love Ray and Dreamer for their work in ECW and their early years in WWE but watching these two go at it in 2011 doesn’t excite me much. Prediction: Bully Ray
Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Angelina Love and Winter © vs. Sarita and Rosita
While Love and Winter have held the titles since before the new year, I just don’t see them dropping the gold on Sunday. Prediction: Love and Winter
First Blood Match: Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan
Two of the best big men in either TNA or WWE doing battle. Morgan has vastly improved since his WWE days while Hernandez is a good worker when he decides to stay away from sloppy maneuvers (as Douglas Williams). This bout could go either way but I’m going with “The Blue Print.” Prediction: Matt Morgan
TNA Tag Team Championship: Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode) © vs. Ink Inc. (Jesse Neal and Shannon Moore)
Roode and Storm make up the best tag team in pro wrestling today. As for Moore and Neal, they are a “nice” team that can put on entertaining bouts. With that said, look for Beer…..Money! to come out on top. Prediction: Beer Money.
A.J. Styles vs. Matt Hardy
If Hardy brings his “working boots”, this match has a good chance to be very good. Depending on outside interference, this one could go either way but I’m going with “The Phenomenal One.” Prediction: A.J. Styles
Ultimate X Match for the X-Division Championship: Kazarian © vs. Jeremy Buck vs. Robbie E vs. Max Buck
Expect a lot of spots in this match as all four men (Robbie E to a bit lesser of an extent) are capable of a great match. In the end, look the Kaz to retain the gold: Prediction: Kazarian
#1 Contenders Match for the TNA Heavyweight Championship: Rob Van Dam vs. Mr. Anderson
Like the Styles vs. M. Hardy match, this one could also very entertaining as Anderson can work well and RVD is still one of the best “spot” guys in TNA. After a back and forth bout, look for Mr. PPV to get the win. Prediction: Rob Van Dam
TNA Heavyweight Championship: Sting © vs. Jeff Hardy
Given the time, these two can put on one hell of match. While it may not come from outstanding spots, these two can tell a story in the ring. With the number of matches on this card, let’s hope these two get enough time to do so. As for a winner, look for the Stinger to come out on top. Prediction: Sting
The 2011 TNA Victory Road will air only on pay per view, with a start time of 8 p.m. EST.
